Spring Is In The Air

Well at least it was a couple days ago. This morning we woke up to a light dusting of snow. I think that was the last of it though so we should be getting back to more spring like weather...hopefully.

Yesterday when we had much warmer temperatures, I felt in the mood to make an Easter Card. Here's how it turned out...

and here are some close up views...

Here is the list of materials I used:

White Cardstock- 6 1/2" x 5"
Patterned paper- K&Co Snuggle Bug Designer Paper Pad
Flowers- Prima "Got Flowers", which I showed how to make in previous post
Ribbon- Hobby Lobby
Brads- Making Memories

Recollection Inspired Mini Roses

Over the weekend I was watching videos on how to make different flowers and I was a little discouraged by all the steps that were involved in making them. I happened to glance up at my shelf containing my Prima "Got Flowers" jars and thought to myself, I wonder if I can use those to make flowers. So I got to work and sure enough, was able to recreate the perfect rose just like the Recollection style mini roses. It was really easy and took no time at all. The best part is that the flowers are different shapes so you can make a lot of different flowers. It only takes four petals per flower, so a whole jar can make a lot! Below are some pictures of the different styles. To view the video on how I made them, click on the link above that says Youtube channel.

New Cricut Carts I Must Have

I received an email from Memory Miser today and there are two new Cricut carts that are definitely going to the top of my wish list.

The first one is the Elegant Edges.

I was going to start buying the nestabilities dies but with this cartridge I don't think I will need to. Just look at all those designs.

The second cart which this is the first time I've seen it, but it may have already been out for awhile, is Baby Steps.

Aren't those little babies sooo cute??!! I can see lots of cards being made. I'll just need more friends to have more babies. LOL.

I may have to wait awhile until they come down in price though. I just can't seem to justify spending over $50 on a cart regardless of how adorable they are. Although I do have an Anniversary and Birthday coming up. :)

New Items at The Fakery Bakery

I had a custom listing yesterday for my dessert set in a light blue color for a little boy. I don't know why I never thought to make my things for boys as well. She had also requested two mugs of hot chocolate which I had never made before either. After I made the mugs, I was looking at them and thought that if I just took the handles off... voila, they were perfect as cups of milk.

Baby Boy Card

I spent my entire weekend crafting and only ventured out to one craft store. Yes ONE! It was to Joann's and are you ready for this.. I spent less than.....$10!! ?????? Crazy right??? Impossible you say. Well not so crazy or impossible when you are on a time limit. I had to rush in really quick because we had to go pick up our son from work so I didn't have the proper amount of time to loiter about the store. I secretly think hubby had that planned out.So I ran in and picked up a paper stack that I needed and a couple stamps that caught my eye and got out of Dodge. Actually I am trying to be really good and save my money because at the end of the month the Scrapbook Expo is coming to town. Plus my Joann's is looking pretty sparse. I really hope they will be restocking new stuff soon. It's rather depressing walking in there only to see the same old stuff. Anyway back to my weekend. So it continued to rain all weekend which is another reason I didn't go out. I hate rain. I know it's good for plants and trees and all that but I just find it annoying. Especially when it's torrential rain that gets you soaked to the skin in 0.2 seconds flat which is what we had. So I stayed holed up in my craft room and did a little organizing and a couple projects.

Let me tell you I am on a card making streak....well if you count two as a streak that is. My cousin had her baby boy over the weekend so I made her a card.

I loooove the little baby in the buggy!! He's just so adorably cute. So here is the list of materials I used.

White textured cardstock- Bazzill
Blue Polka Dot cardstock- Nana's Kids DCWV
White Scalloped Circle- Sizzix, embossed with Swiss Dots folder
Baby in Buggy- Cricut Simply Charmed Cart
Tag- Recollections
Stickles- light blue
Baby Boy letters- Cricut Storybook Cart
Trim
Buttons

Have a great Monday!!

Punk Princess Birthday Card

It's a rainy day here today. The perfect weather for staying indoors and crafting. Today I made a birthday card using a digi stamp that I purchased off of Etsy. The seller is hannahlynnart and I just love all her designs. Click on the link to go to her shop. :)

I bought the birthday girl digi and she is soooo cute. I love her punk princess look. Here is the card and a list of materials.

Materials used:
DCWV- Rockstar Stack
Bazzill cardstock
Sizzix- Flower Layer #3
Digi Image- Hannahlynnart Etsy Shop- colored using colored pencils
Pink Lace
Black Rhinestone strip
Stickles-Frost

It's hard to see in the picture but I used the stickles on the frilly parts of her dress and also on her birthday hat.

This picture shows it a little better.

My Very First ATC

Well I finally got over my fear and I joined my first ATC swap over at A Lil Scrap of Heaven .

The theme was Easter/Spring and you had to use glitter or stickles or glitter glue on it as well. This is what I came up with.

To make my card, I cut out a piece of thin chipboard to the standard measurement of an ATC which is 2.5 x 3.5. Then attached a piece of patterned paper from K&Co. Then I outlined the entire card in frost stickles. Next I ran off the image of the girl that I found online. Cut her out as well as the Easter Wishes sentiment and inked the edges using tea dye distress ink. I also used the tea dye color around the edge of the card. I then attached the ribbon and Recollections flowers with hot glue and then applied frost stickles to both.
Last step was to attach a glitter ribbon and butterfly charm.

Not to bad for my very first time, don't you think?

Strawberry Cake Slice Earrings

Yellow Cake Slice Earrings

Pancakes and Sausage Necklace

Goodie Bags Using Create A Critter Cart

My son Carson's birthday was on February 25th and I made some goodie bags for his class. The monkey was made using the Create a Critter Cricut cartridge and the label I ran off from the computer. It was a lot of work making 24 of these! They did turn out really nice though so it was worth it.

Princess Mini Album

This is a Princess mini album that I made for my niece.

Welcome To My Blog

Hey everyone! I decided to start this blog to share things that I create. I love to scrapbook and make mini albums. I also have two shops on Etsy. One is for my felt dessert play food and the other is bakery inspired miniature food jewelry. I will be posting pictures and information for all three of these on here. Hopefully I can keep this updated as much as possible. Thanks for stopping by!
