Silly Little Monkey Layout

Sorry it has taken me so long to post Carson's layout. I've been dealing with a headache and neck pain for the last week and finally went in to see the Dr. She in turn sent me to my dentist because it turns out that I have been clenching my teeth which is the cause of the headaches and neck pains. So long story short, I now have to wear a mouth guard at night to hopefully cure me of my teeth clenching. So on to the layout.

Here is my little monkey boy Carson.

For the monkey stamps, I colored them using copic markers and then added glossy accents on top.

List of materials:
Patterned Paper and Cardstock- Recollections
Monkey Stamps- The Paper Studio
Title Stickers- The Paper Studio
Border strips- K&Company
Glossy Accents

Two More 12x12 Layouts

This past weekend I finished two more layouts. These are of my two oldest boys, Colton and Chandler.
Boy layouts for me are so hard to do because I have to be really creative without using flowers or too much glitter. Being a girly girl this is not always easy. I am so thankful that I had at least one girl out of the bunch to indulge my love of all things sparkly.

So here are the layouts. First up is Chandler.

Here is a list of materials:

Paper- K&Company Sea Glass Paper Pad
Decorative Scissors in Zig Zag
Silver eyelets- Making Memories
Distress Ink- Tea Dye
Chipboard
Font-Cricut Classic Font Cartridge
Twine
Crackle Accents
Acetate Quote Sheet

This next layout is of my son Colton.

Colton's favorite color combo is red, white and blue. He plans on joining the Marine Corp after graduation, just like his Dad did. He has always been so patriotic. I always think of him when I see anything flag or military related.

Here is the list of materials for this layout:

Paper- Hot off the Press
Die Cut Border- K&Company
USA Letters- K&Company
Blue Glitter Stars- K&Company
Chipboard Alphas- K&Company
Eyelets- Making Memories

Getting Back to Basics

Happy Friday Everyone!!

So I have decided that I am going to start focusing more on making 12x12 layouts rather than mini albums or cards because it is what brought me to scrapbooking in the first place. I have dozens of albums, some started some not, and they are just sitting in my closet collecting dust. To go along with that are dozens of boxes filled with pictures that are not being enjoyed, which to me is the main reason for having pictures to begin with. Of course, I will still make mini albums and cards but for now will concentrate mainly on 12x12's.

That being said, yesterday I worked on a layout of my daughter. The pictures were taken the summer before her senior year. She is now a freshman in college so that is how far behind I have gotten.

I had forgotten how much I enjoyed making layouts. With the mini's I had to stick to one theme and one subject but with the layouts I can switch between all my kids and have different themes. It's actually pretty refreshing only having to do one page and then moving on to the next.

Anyway, here is the layout I made with a list of materials used. I will be posting lots more layouts in the future.

List of Materials:
Patterned Paper- K&Company Classic K Bailey Paper Stack
Pearls- Say it with Bling, Want 2 Scrap
Flowers- Recollections

Thanks for visiting and have a fabulous weekend!!

Spring Is In The Air

Well at least it was a couple days ago. This morning we woke up to a light dusting of snow. I think that was the last of it though so we should be getting back to more spring like weather...hopefully.

Yesterday when we had much warmer temperatures, I felt in the mood to make an Easter Card. Here's how it turned out...

Recollection Inspired Mini Roses

Over the weekend I was watching videos on how to make different flowers and I was a little discouraged by all the steps that were involved in making them. I happened to glance up at my shelf containing my Prima "Got Flowers" jars and thought to myself, I wonder if I can use those to make flowers. So I got to work and sure enough, was able to recreate the perfect rose just like the Recollection style mini roses. It was really easy and took no time at all. The best part is that the flowers are different shapes so you can make a lot of different flowers. It only takes four petals per flower, so a whole jar can make a lot! Below are some pictures of the different styles. To view the video on how I made them, click on the link above that says Youtube channel.

New Cricut Carts I Must Have

I received an email from Memory Miser today and there are two new Cricut carts that are definitely going to the top of my wish list.

The first one is the Elegant Edges.

I was going to start buying the nestabilities dies but with this cartridge I don't think I will need to. Just look at all those designs.

The second cart which this is the first time I've seen it, but it may have already been out for awhile, is Baby Steps.

Aren't those little babies sooo cute??!! I can see lots of cards being made. I'll just need more friends to have more babies. LOL.

I may have to wait awhile until they come down in price though. I just can't seem to justify spending over $50 on a cart regardless of how adorable they are. Although I do have an Anniversary and Birthday coming up. :)

New Items at The Fakery Bakery

I had a custom listing yesterday for my dessert set in a light blue color for a little boy. I don't know why I never thought to make my things for boys as well. She had also requested two mugs of hot chocolate which I had never made before either. After I made the mugs, I was looking at them and thought that if I just took the handles off... voila, they were perfect as cups of milk.

Baby Boy Card

I spent my entire weekend crafting and only ventured out to one craft store. Yes ONE! It was to Joann's and are you ready for this.. I spent less than.....$10!! ?????? Crazy right??? Impossible you say. Well not so crazy or impossible when you are on a time limit. I had to rush in really quick because we had to go pick up our son from work so I didn't have the proper amount of time to loiter about the store. I secretly think hubby had that planned out.So I ran in and picked up a paper stack that I needed and a couple stamps that caught my eye and got out of Dodge. Actually I am trying to be really good and save my money because at the end of the month the Scrapbook Expo is coming to town. Plus my Joann's is looking pretty sparse. I really hope they will be restocking new stuff soon. It's rather depressing walking in there only to see the same old stuff. Anyway back to my weekend. So it continued to rain all weekend which is another reason I didn't go out. I hate rain. I know it's good for plants and trees and all that but I just find it annoying. Especially when it's torrential rain that gets you soaked to the skin in 0.2 seconds flat which is what we had. So I stayed holed up in my craft room and did a little organizing and a couple projects.

Let me tell you I am on a card making streak....well if you count two as a streak that is. My cousin had her baby boy over the weekend so I made her a card.

I loooove the little baby in the buggy!! He's just so adorably cute. So here is the list of materials I used.

White textured cardstock- Bazzill
Blue Polka Dot cardstock- Nana's Kids DCWV
White Scalloped Circle- Sizzix, embossed with Swiss Dots folder
Baby in Buggy- Cricut Simply Charmed Cart
Tag- Recollections
Stickles- light blue
Baby Boy letters- Cricut Storybook Cart
Trim
Buttons

Have a great Monday!!

Punk Princess Birthday Card

It's a rainy day here today. The perfect weather for staying indoors and crafting. Today I made a birthday card using a digi stamp that I purchased off of Etsy. The seller is hannahlynnart and I just love all her designs. Click on the link to go to her shop. :)

I bought the birthday girl digi and she is soooo cute. I love her punk princess look. Here is the card and a list of materials.

Materials used:
DCWV- Rockstar Stack
Bazzill cardstock
Sizzix- Flower Layer #3
Digi Image- Hannahlynnart Etsy Shop- colored using colored pencils
Pink Lace
Black Rhinestone strip
Stickles-Frost

It's hard to see in the picture but I used the stickles on the frilly parts of her dress and also on her birthday hat.

This picture shows it a little better.
